About the Author A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier's Business Administration program, Matt Jackson was lured away from the corporate world by the thrill of adventure journalism shortly after he spent a year skiing and climbing in the Canadian Rockies. He is now a magazine writer, photojournalist and professional speaker specializing in travel, adventure, science, conservation, and human interest stories.![]() Jackson's work has been featured widely in more than two dozen popular magazines including Equinox, Explore, Canadian Geographic and BBC Wildlife. From 1998 until 2001 he was a regular columnist at Photo Life, Canada's national photography magazine, and he is now a contributing editor at Canadian Wildlife and Prairies North magazines. His first book, The Canada Chronicles: A Four-Year Hitchhiking Odyssey, won the IPPY award for best North American travel memoir in 2005. He is also the president of Summit Studios, a Vancouver-based publishing company that recently launched a new series of short story books showcasing the best of travel, humour, and adventure. |
