About the Author A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier's Business Administration program, Matt Jackson was lured away from the corporate world by the thrill of adventure journalism shortly after he spent a year skiing and climbing in the Canadian Rockies. He is now a magazine writer, photojournalist and professional speaker specializing in travel, adventure, science, conservation, and human interest stories. Jackson's work has been featured widely in more than two dozen popular magazines including Equinox, Explore, Canadian Geographic and BBC Wildlife. From 1998 until 2001 he was a regular columnist at Photo Life, Canada's national photography magazine, and he is now a contributing editor at Canadian Wildlife and Prairies North magazines. His first book, The Canada Chronicles: A Four-Year Hitchhiking Odyssey, won the IPPY award for best North American travel memoir in 2005. He is also the president of Summit Studios, a Vancouver-based publishing company that recently launched a new series of short story books showcasing the best of travel, humour, and adventure. |
